Noorder- of vrouwenkerk
The Noorder- or Vrouwenkerk is a three-aisled hall church, located between the Veemarkt and the Kleine Noord. In 1426 there was a wooden church building here. The stone church was built on the same spot between 1441 and 1519. The choir, on the side of the Veemarkt, was used as an arms church in the 18th and 19th century. It still contains the original rough wooden benches and pulpit (1635). Special is the spiral staircase and the 17th century choir fence. The church was restored in 1984 and can be rented for receptions, exhibitions and information markets.
