Oudendijk is located in a beautiful part of the North Holland polder landscape. This authentic little village, which is encircled by water, is a perfect base for walking and cycling holidays in the surrounding area.
For example, follow the West Frisian Circular Dike that meanders through the North Holland polder landscape like a giant green caterpillar. The 126-kilometre-long dike that was built over seven centuries ago by hand, protected the inhabitants against the unpredictability of the water from the Zuiderzee, the Beemster and the Schermer. Nowadays, the West Frisian Circular Dike functions as the primary route past the most beautiful places in West Friesland.
Many lovely village events take place here; the prut marathon and the farmers' golf tournament are the place to be each year for all sports lovers who aren't afraid of mud or cow pats.
