Viewed from the air, Benningbroek is a small dot surrounded by a wide variety of green fields. Cyclists and hikers have felt at home for years in this rustic countryside village that is part of the municipality of Medemblik. Because once you have passed the ribbon settlement of Benningbroek (with its small railway station and lovely white church), you disappear between the meadows. This was once a marshy lowland, but is now a nature reserve. This is one of the few places where you can still find uneven meadows: where the marshy lowlands and the higher dry land merge. Proudly managed by Landschap Noord-Holland!
