Living between the extensive fields and beside the waters of the Markermeer. Welcome to Warder. In this small farming village just north of Volendam, life is slow paced. You don't need to to much here, except relax well and listen to the grassland birds. Those who prefer activity should follow one of the cycling routes (cycling network junctions 63 or 64) and ride around the beautiful polders of Warder. The surrounding area offers many excellent bed & breakfasts, if you spontaneously decide to stay longer.
The major advantage of Warder is that it is situated directly beside the water. You will find the Water nature pool here, a strip of land beyond the dike where you can swim in the Markermeer and enjoy hours of sunbathing on the meadow. The youngest visitors will have a great time in the paddling pool. Alternatively, watch a catamaran competition at Warder Water Sports Club, which is a sensational sight. The nice thing is: you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Lazing around and doing nothing is also good. And if you suddenly feel the urge to enjoy the cosy hustle and bustle of the city, then Amsterdam isn't far away.
