The annual Zijpe Art Route runs straight through Sint Maartensbrug. The centuries-old church in the centre of this polder village forms the unique exhibition space for various collections by professional artists. And if you are visiting Sint Maartensbrug after all then go on a cruise around the Zijperpolder while you're here. The rustic Grote Sloot runs from north to south, and is flanked on both sides by small villages such as Burgerbrug, Schagerbrug and Oudesluis. The last village served as the mooring spot for VOC ships that chose to navigate the tidal inlet via Marsdiep. The old lock can still be visited!
