The surrounding area of Petten alone is enough to relax you: the expansive pasture lands, with the undulating landscape of the dunes in the distance. Petten is the perfect destination for anyone in search of peace and authenticity (and who is averse to mass tourism).
This small village lies behind the broad bank of the Hondsbossche Sea Wall. Petten is located directly beside the dune area, surrounded by forests, with an enchanting little lake hidden deep inside. At visitor centre Zand Tegen Zee you can see how the coastline between Camperduin and Petten was reinforced during the past few years with 35 million cubic metres of sand. Besides the beach and dunes, Petten is known for its blooming tulip fields which are transformed from the beginning of April to mid May into all the colours of the rainbow.
In addition to lots of nature, Petten also has a pleasant centre with plenty of shops and terraces. Many guests also choose to camp, which is hardly surprising with a campsite that is almost on the beach! You can of course choose to stay at one of the holiday homes. Plenty of choice!
