In the rural municipality of Opmeer you can stay as a guest at one of the many farm campsites or bed & breakfasts. Around the village you can easily find a peaceful green oasis by bike. Follow the handy cycling network and choose a route across the West Frisian Circular Dike, for example. This 126-kilometre-long monument is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built in the sixteenth century by West Frisian farmers to protect humans and animals from the sea. It is now primarily a place to enjoy the best panoramas over West Friesland.
Tip! After a long cycle ride, cool off in 't Woudmeer outdoor swimming pool, or hit a ball on midget golf course De Pyramide.
