Once, the small polder village of Dirkshorn was surrounded by lakes. Most of them were reclaimed and continue their lives under names such as Schagerwaard, de Koetenmeer and het Woudmeer. Fortunately, one of them still remains on which you can enjoy endless surfing, fishing or canoeing. And on a summer's day take a refreshing dive into the local outdoor swimming pool. Or go to the North Sea for the day, which is located a stone's throw from Dirkshorn. Alkmaar and the provincial town of Schagen are also located nearby.
In the rural village of Dirkshorn, beautifully located between the panoramic fields, you will find no less than three bungalow parks. Moreover, there is also a golf club: an A-status golf course with many water features and a view across the pasture lands. And in September the streets of Dirkshorn come to life during the Street Festival. This street theatre festival combined with a market has now grown to become a real phenomenon. Street theatre players, marching bands, market stalls and beautifully decorated gardens play the main role. Not to be missed!
