De Weere is a typical North Holland ribbon village that extends across the green countryside of West Friesland. All eight hundred and fifty villagers know each other. As a visitor you will always be greeted in a friendly manner, as it is immediately clear that you are an 'outsider'.
Peace and quiet predominates here, but activity is easy to find. Within five minutes you can be in the historical centre of the IJsselmeer town of Medemblik. Head in a westerly direction and you can be dipping your toes in the North Sea within thirty minutes. Follow the cycling network junctions through the neighbouring of Abbekerk to the conservation village of Twisk or keep peddling to the VOC city of Hoorn.
Would you like to stay longer? Then you can opt for a great bed & breakfast or mini campsite Het Stammeland. Lost your way? Not a problem! The friendly villagers will already have spotted it and will point you in the right direction.
