Noord Hollands Duinreservaat
The provincial water company controls the area between Bergen aan Zee and the North Sea Canal, the North-Holland Dune Reserve, a large proportion of the North-Holland’s drinking water still comes from this area. An extensive network of paths for both the walker and the cyclist opens up the area to the public, however an admission ticket (available from the tourist information offices) is compulsory. A wander through the area brings one into contact with the deciduous trees, pine trees, sand dunes and reeds, small lakes, heather, a diversity of bird species, butterflies, rabbits and squirrels.
