Museum Kranenburgh
Huize Kranenburgh was built in 1882-83 for the couple Jacob and Marie van Reenen-Völter, of whom Jacob would have been mayor of Bergen for almost 40 years. After his death, the house came into the possession of the municipality and had various uses, until it was turned into a museum for Bergen (and other) art in 1993. The Bergen Artists Center, founded in 1947, was also housed here and shows the work of its members in temporary exhibitions. Studio C forms the educational center of the museum, various creative workshops are organized there. Various cultural routes are available in the shop annex Kunstuitleen, including past artists' homes and other special architecture.
