Houten Hoofd
The sea piercing wooden pier or jetty next to the tower, Het Houten Hoofd, however, dates back to 1464. The tower derived its name from this. The pier got an extension in 1609 with a bend in a southeastern direction. Afterwards, the head was restored several times or completely renewed, including in 1685 and 1755 according to the stone memorial plaque in the wall on the sea side and lastly in 2004.
