Johan Ysbrantsz was a restorer in the 17th century. A warm, affectionate man who wanted to give his guests a feeling of coming home. On the Roode Steen 14 he received guests for overnight stays, he cooked meals with spices that the shipmen took with them from long journeys and he received people for a home-brewed snack.
